They are called Speakons.

Your speaker can be connected with either those speakon cables or by standard 1/4" speaker cords.

What connectors are on your power amps? I generally prefer the same connector on both ends.

Hi Enzo,
Thanks for the Intel, out of my element here.
Thinking this amp should work, picked it up new for $100 three years ago and never used it. Ok to laugh, but it will be only used 3 - 4 times a year, for the barn party.
[pic of speaker terminals also]

But wait, this is better, thinking about taking my speaker wheel. Started off as a HT sub, but gave up and moved on to something better. Then realized getting some really nice "live music" sounds out of it. I'll add it for reinforcement on the low end with a separate plate amp.

It would appear your Radio Shack 250 amp has dual banana jacks for output. this is better than 1/4 phone plugs because they don't short out and blow the output transistors if your roady/bandmate/mc trips over your speaker cord.
I don't know of anybody selling dual banana plug to speakon cables made up. you can buy the components at mcmelectronics.com or your previous seller, the soldering iron you need is as least as good at a WP35. A little heat shrink tubing is also useful.
Best of luck.

They are called Speakons.

Yes, this type of connector is nowadays referred to a s "Speakon" in an "original brand name became general term for this type of product" way. But in a copyright sense, "Speakon" is a registered and protected trademark of the Neutrik company

The plugs you have linked to on Amazon are unauthorized, generic copies, that's why they are referred to as "Speaker plug twist lock".

I highly recommend buying the original Neutrik product for reasons of quality and durability.

Yes, Speakon is a brand. They came along and were different from other things, and the name took over. ANyone in the industry instantly knows what you mean when you say Speakon, regardless of brand. But yes. credit where credit is due.

SImilarly, to many people any plastic multi-wire connector with metal pins gets called a Molex connector, even if it is another brand, and really even if they are not Molex-compatible.

The Neutrik Speakon is a quality reliable product. Switchcraft makes a compatible line of connectors, their HPC series. I consider that company a maker of quality connectors as well. And would put either brand on my cables. I don't know who else makes them offhand.

I did see a video and saw some listed as "Genuine" so catching up on these connectors. Cool that they sell the opposite end.

Also thought about making a pair of PA speakers, but this time the $229 (each) looked like the better deal.

Thanks
