Pros and Cons of capless audio outputs ?

What about capless audio outputs ( balanced or unbalanced ) - is it a common practice in professional audio equipment?

Are they better or not , that outputs with capacitors?

P.S. The question is about the case when outputs are protected by Shottky diodes.
