Hello guys
A while back I got my hands on a second-hand early version pair of the Promitheus TVC Reference (C-core) but never had the chance to play with them.
Here's a photo taken by the previous owner, while they were new.
They sound nice but they are in a pretty bad shape.
The switches and connectors are loose. The chassis is beaten up in places and is a bit dirty. And the previous owner had changed the source switch and two of the rca connectors, but the soldering is just sad, full of cold joints and loosely connected wires.
Oh and in some places some kind of nude copper wire was used that has now oxidised.
I like their sound and I think they have more to give, but at their current state they are not acceptable, so I decided to rebuild them in a new chassis.
I am thinking to get something like the 2U or 3U pesante case from modushop, and put both of them in one chassis.

The chassis will be strengthened with some mdf to help with damping vibrations away from the transformers, and copper shielding will be used to help isolate them from each other.
However the thing will be really heavy.
Should I go for dual mono again?
The connectors will also be replaced with some new ones, but I do not know if I want to spend much money on them. We 'll see...
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks
