Project finished, but still no cigar ...

Hi all,

I'm now finished with my project of building a 5 ch HT power-amp.
It is based on 2 SPS80 from coldamp and 5 UCD400AD's.
And, at this point, 'el-cheapo' cables and connectors.

But I need help and hints.

The thing is, it is dead. 🙁

I've connected one channel, but speaker is dead.
Or more correct, if I press the speaker to my ears, I can hear a faint sound originating from the CD.

I have measued voltages from the SPS80 and it seems ok.

Any hints?

I really dont want to test another channel before
I have understood what this is about. :smash:

Hi again,

Ok, so my question might just have been a tad unclear ...

More specifically, How can I determine signs of life on the ucd?

As I hear a faint sound from the speakers I'm fairly shure I have not shortened in's or out's.

Supply voltage seems to be within spec.

Should I dare to take thr next ucd in line and try there?
(And possibly blow two ...)

So far, I have done no changes to neither th ucd400's nor the sps80's. For instance the OP does not have a separate power feed.

... You have no idea how embarrased I am right now ... 😱

I surely had the picture in my head that it was internally pulled to the on state, and enabled an optional standby function.

Thanks a bunch for correcting me.

Tested and verified

I guess you're right...

So now two of five channels tested and I've closed the lid on the box.
-After taking some pictures of course.

I'll rest for now and be back with pictures and experiences in a day or two.

Cheers
Erland
