No, though you have probably been wondering, I'm not dead, I just haven't been able to get on the internet for the last few weeks because Klez corrupted every last file on my computer and it has been out of service until just now (as in like, the last few minutes). But as always, I am back.

So here's what's going on. I have the two Leach Amp channels done, and I am working on the chassis for my home hifi amp now. I am partially done with one of my modified P3a midrange amps, and am working on layouts for the tweeter amps and the preamp. I will post pictures soon.

I was wondering, how big of transformer I should use for an 2 x 40W single ended class A amp (similar to Zen) with a regulated supply? Think 625VA is enough?

2 x 40 = 80 watts out

efficiency of Zen Classic = .2

power draw = 400 watts.

power factor =~ 2, so transformer will heat as if 800 watts.

needs 1200 VA (watt) transformer.

So use 1 per channel, or build penultimate Zen, with
40% efficiency.
