Turned my DV-605 on and all I got was 'HELLO' on the screen - DVD Carousel tray is not jammed but will not come out. Removed cover to take a look. Everything there looks okay and NO burned-up component smell. Unit looks like new inside and out! - Any ideas? Thanks, Jack

Check for the loose/broken rubber belt(s). Usually, you can turn some wheel and the tray will come out. The belts may not be directly visible.

DV-605 problem
While inside the player, I did remove the platen to look underneath - there is a very small motor that turns the platen; this motor and its belt look good, Jack

How old is the player. If nearly 5+years, then better check for dry solder at and around hot parts and also the controller board.
