maybe not...

cause i'd lie to work with the tda1302t but that doesn't exist anymore... so i will try to used tza1026... it's a data amplifier and laser supply componant... but, I still don't know if it sweets for the optical pickup called vam1201????

OK, philips website is working now... and there it is... TZA1026. :fim: 😉

Unfortunately, I don't know where you can obtain this part. I think your best option is to salvage one from an old or broken player which contains the philips vam1201, or ask a repair shop if they can get one for you. Also, check if Philips or another manufacturer makes a similar part with the same specs, or an updated version of it.

I can see that TZA1026 is a very different IC from TDA1302T. As for it's suitability for use with the vam1201, I think unless the circuit you are using was originally designed and optimized specifically for the vam1201 OPU (optical pick-up), it will not work well. For my last employer, I have done DVD optical pickup front end circuit design, and I can tell you that in every case, we spent a lot of time in the lab with test equipment to optimize the circuit for each different OPU. If you change the OPU, or change the circuit, you will need to re-test and tune the circuit again to make it work optimally and reliably. This requires a lot of expensive test equipment, in-depth knowledge of how the system works, and access to the control DSP code that will execute the servo computations for tracking, focus, spindle and sled movements. I would not recommend that you change OPU unless you know very well what you are doing. I don't mean to discourage you, but I don't want to see you waste your efforts either. Look for the salvage part first, or NOS (New Old Stock). If you absolutely cannot get one, then give the alternate part a try - just don't waste your time with it if it isn't working right.

Anyway, best of luck with your project. 🙂
