Preamp

Bought the new nad658 steaming preamp and when I hook it up to the pass f6 all I get is a loud buzzing and smoke from the cl60 area. I hooked the preamp up to a cheap chip amp and the g12 tube amp and they worked fine. Luckily my F6 still works fine directly connected to my phone. Any thoughts?

The phone is floating from ground, that's why there's no problem using it.
You must have a problem in the F6. Be careful, it sounds serious.

Post some good photos of the boards and wiring, especially near the CL-60 and the input AC wiring.

Or the AC wall outlet wired wrong. But this sounds much more serious than that.
