Hi guys,
I have a PPI Powerclass PC 1800.2 on my bench with a blown power supply. I cant seem to tell what kind of power supply FET is used, for some reason all of the FETs have been scratched down the middle to obscure the part number. The only part that is visible is the IRF?40 and two with IRF?40N. I think they are 540's, but i wanted to double with somebody before i installed the new parts.
thanks
🙂

The IRF540 would not be the correct part.
In photos I have, the FQP50N06 are installed and appear to be the original parts (looking at the solder connections).

Perry! Hi Thanks for chiming in, what do you think they could be?
The amps in this series often used FETs rated for about 50 amps each. The FQP50N06 or the Z44 (or anything similar) could have been used.
