Power supplies and Overkill for 2X COD & Mux

I am planning my power supply section for running 2x COD boards, a 4:1 Mux Board, I2C Switch Board and some form of USB to I2C board.

How much of a difference does it make using multiple power supplies and separating the VA & VD from each COD board? VS connecting all VA & VD together and running from a single supply?

And should the MUX have its own power supply?

I am considering a setup with one large transformer, rectifier and bank of filter caps that then feed 5 separate regulators each with there own local bypassing and filter cap for each of the VA,VD,VA,VD, Mux stages. There would be a separate reg(s) for whatever USB board I end up with.

and there will be a completely separate power supply for the analog section.
