Current & Voltage Sources
[I have a feeling this section is kind of weird and nonstandard. Please edit to make it better. I'm not quite sure why this page is here in the first place.]
There are two types of sources: signal sources and power sources; Those meant to transfer power and those meant to transfer information.
Power sources
A voltage source is anything like a battery or power supply. Anything that gives a controlled output voltage is a voltage source.
Voltage sources are what we normally base our electronic circuits on. Voltage takes higher priority than current because there can be no current without voltage.
A current source is anything that takes a given voltage and allows a controlled amount of current to flow. The advantage of a current source is that it isolates the voltage at its output from the voltage of its input.
Signal sources
A signal voltage source is anything that transfers information via a changing voltage.
A signal current source is anything that transfers information via a changing current.
