hi am working on a power acoustik LFA1 4000d amp c176 is missing anyone no the value of that cap?
If no one can help, post a photo of the inside of the amp and I'll see if I have information on a similar amp.
Well this amp came in with a burn PS fet and gate resistor.I will replace them and test for audio,maybe that cap is should not be in that model also.Thanks for the quick reply
The OVN1 amps have a serious design flaw that causes the legs of the FETs to break. If any of the legs were weak, they're likely to break soon. You need to install a support on the top and bottom of the board to sandwich it between the heatsink and the bottom cover to prevent the board from flexing.
You are correct 4 fets had broken legs and started arking when i power it up.After resoldering them the amp power up fine and is playing good audion.I think i will use some silcone to keep the board in place. Thanks
You need to use something to support the board in the middle and that's not going to be difficult to remove if you have to disassemble the amp later.
