Potentiometer ID

I got a pair of these odd pots from a organ volume pedal, the schematic for the organ shows them as 250K, they are made by Allen Bradley. Anybody have any info on what this is?

There is plenty of info on the web on how to tell if it's log or Lin. Adjust to halfway if it reads half the resistance it's probably Lin.

And do you have any clues about the function of the fourth solder lug on the main pot body?

The pot may have a tap off, put your meter across it and it may tell you.

My first notion was that it might be a loudness tap.

I am mostly wondering about the protrusion from the back of the pot that is connected to one of the 4 lugs with a wire.

I'm thinking that the protrusion is probably a resistor. Find the input lug and read ohms between it and the wired lug, and then again between the input and the pot's wiper output [with the pot at half swing] and I bet they are two different values... just a thought
