I have a dvd player that can only read the original disc. It is very well make, use high end caps inside.
It doesn't read cdr or dvdr, anyway to make it work???

CDR of what specifically? I assume it will probably already read cdr copies of normal audio cds, and possibly vcd, but nothing else.
(Every cd or dvd player I have ever owned right back to the very first 14 bit Magnavox/Philips cd player would read cdr copies of audio cds.)
Odd if yours won't - it would almost have to be a deliberate design choice I suspect.
