I'm designning a new set of speakers (something like the ones Indoubt build). Now I'm a little unsure about the placement of the port. I made some drawings with the port on the back-side, but the speakers will be rather close to the room-corners. All in all the speakers aren 't bass-heavy so at first I tought that it wouldn't be a problem, but I'm starting to doubt that idea. I'm afraid the bass will be too boomy.
Should I re-design the speakers or should I keep them like they are?
How close is too close the a room-corner? I think I can keep them about 8" to 10" away. (very small room, just for listening)
I can just copy Indoub's enclosure but I don't feel like doing that.
He's a very nice guy and I feel like he deserves something unique.🙂
Thanks for any advice.

Port placement won't affect whether or not the speakers are boomy in the corner. What affects that is frequency response and your room acoustics, which are independent of port placement.
OK, that's nice to know. So I can keep the design like it is.🙂
Now with a 2"port, staying away 8" from any wall will not cause any problems, will it?
