Plexi

not sure if this helps or not, but if you're concerned with reducing sound transmission through the window, and you're using a double pane of plexi or glass or whatever, it helps if the two panes are different thicknesses. this reduces sympathetic vibrations. (that's where the inner pane vibrates, causing the air to vibrate, causing the outer pane to vibrate.)

different thicknesses of material creates an asymmetry of periodicity, so the vibrations are dampened. (damped? whatever...)

/andrew - is neither damp nor dampened
