My nefew has a Pioneer Super Tuner III DEH-45DH deck and it has a problem. Has a disk in it, the lights glow on the buttons but nothing on the screen. When ya disconect power for a few min and then hook up the disk spinns and you can hear it reading then it stops and dose nothing. wont ejected disk or go to tuner.
On the older Pioneer decks, they used Orange as the backup, not yellow.
Also, if there is a fusible resistor (in a gray capsule) in the red wire, confirm that the voltage is passing through the resistor and into the plug on the back of the head unit.

ok here is what I tryed
With no diagram for wires, I hooked up the orange fuse wire to + and then hooked up red to +, nothing happened. Hooked up orange and yellow to + and buttons lit up and spit out disk, but nothin on the screen. also found out that the 2 black ground wires dont ground for some reason. hooked a wire from deck to - and it grounds. what to try now or is this enough info to make a call on whats wrong.

What about orange and red to B+ and the case of the head unit to ground?
Did you measure the voltage at the plug for the red wire to confirm that the voltage was getting through the resistor?

Have you tried connecting speakers to it? There may be a problem with the lamps that light up the display.
