Look at page 109. It gives test point 'BLP' as the voltage test point. Do you have approximately 19v there?
how would i go about testing this? is there points that i just feed +12v and a ground to to activate and turn on the board? if yes can you tell me what the points are that i need to feed positive and negative to. thanks.
You'll have to power the head unit up normally. The test point should be marked on the board. Use the search function of your pdf reader to find BLP until you find the test point on the board layout. Then find that point on the head unit.
You should know in advance that this may not be an easy repair and I may not be much help. I quit repairing head units about 10 years ago.

pioneer backlight not working
i know it isn't an easy fix that is the reason why i decided to try to eliminate the head unit controlling the led backlight instead controlling it with 12v power from car battery just unsure of how to do it bc there are 10 pins on it and only 6 being used. There is 3 sections of 6 led per section totaling 18 led. If it was 3 led in a section it wouldn't be hard for me to figure out but it is 6 per section which i am not familiar with.
