I'm beginning my build of RJM's Emerald phono stage with a switchboard and mono/stereo switch.
In the past, on similar builds, I've tightly twisted the signal voltage pairs of wires as well as looser twists (by necessity of the type of wire) of the power supply board connections. I've also tried passing all the twisted wires through copper braid which was grounded - both signal and power connections.
I'm wondering if this is necessary or even may be damaging SQ by adding capacitance or via some other mechanism?
My choices as I see them is to:
1) wire all the boards with tightly twisted hookup wire.
2) twist all wires and then shield them with external braided shield
3) twist all but only shield the power three wire hookups.
4) don't twist anything.
5) don't twist but shield all
6 don't twist but only shield power connections
7) use a small coaxial wire and use shield as the negative connections as in an unbalanced interconnect. (only the signal wires)
8) use a twisted shielded pair like microphone wire and ground one end of the shield
The chassis will be all aluminum and I don't live in a high RFI environment.

I would use 7.
No need to shield power connections.
Twisted pairs are used for:
- balanced audio connections
- pseudo-balanced connections (e.g. from MM cartridge to phono amp)
- PSU charging loop
- mains primary wiring
- valve AC heaters
