Phase EQ using FIR filters

HI,

has anyone some experience in this? I have a real-time DSP platform ready to work with ( http://grassomusic.de/english/m56k.htm ), but I still miss rudimentary FIR coefficient types. How does a phase EQ look like?

Then there is the question if an über-alles EQ is sufficient. In case of horn speakers, delays are big, hence seperate delay lines and EQs must be used.

This is not solely about an optimized phase at 0° angle but also for acceptable amplitude and phase characteristics at different radiation angles. A speaker which can produce 110dB SPL at any frequency and at a radiation of +-40° hor. and +-20° ver. cannot have a perfectly flat phase but must find a balance.

DSPs are a powerful and dangerous tool, which if justly used can enhance sound quality. Any comments welcome.
