Peerless resolution 15"
Hiall Folks!
I am planning to do 2x15" subs (stereopair, so that both channels has 2x15") closed box.
I am just wondering that when I simulate those r.15 elements in WinISD, optimum box volume is around 250 litres, which is possible, but gives me
And now Peerless is giving much smaller boxes (for car use though).
Have people tried to build subs with r.15":s and with what kind of enclosure volumes?
Don't suggest anything else that closed (as i wont do reflex or any other resonant enclosure)

Do one of those sub boosts at 20Hz things if you want I suppose: http://sound.westhost.com/project71.htm
You'll need plenty of power. What you driving them with?
How big is your room? You don't want a flat response, because with room gain the low frequencies will give a big boost down low and it will effectively no longer be flat! That's the same reason quoted car sub box sizes are much smaller - the cabin gain is significant.

My amp is nad218-thx, and hopefully it is able to drive 2 ohm in stereo, so I will get quite nice amount of power. I would prefer 4 ohms, but r.15:s are only 4 ohm version available.
My listening room is 41m2, and it is in wooden house, so low frequencies will go through walls. So I can not rely very much on room effect.
Linkwitch transform i am familiar with.

Hi,
The amp is not designed for 2ohm, don't go below 4ohm.

Ahh
so it seems.
That is a shame since I have to drive 8 ohms then (as R.15 has only 4 ohm version available).
But back to business.
Any good known R.15 subs
anyone?
Other choice might be doing IB for those (i have 6.5m2 room behind subs)
