Hi
Peerless 831858 - 8" woofers - 8ohm - dual voice coils.
I intend to use 2 drivers per side. If I connect each driver's dual coils in parallel I'll get a 4ohm load for each driver and then if both drivers are in parallel with each other that'll go down to 2ohms. Right? That's too low for me.
So, if I connected each drivers 8ohm coils in serial, that'll be 16ohms per driver, both drivers in parallel will be 8ohms. Right?
Now, the drivers are rated at 90.4 db. Going to 16ohm will pull that back to 87 then going to 8ohm will bring that back to 90.4 plus I'll get another 3db from acoustic coupling making around 93 but loose some with baffle step.
Am I on the right track?
Anything wrong with traeting those drivers like this?
Thanks.
Mos
