Hello can anyone give me the generic pt nos for a peavey pv 2000 amp output transistors, pnp & npn got one here with shorted outputs but only peavey nos on the t03 cases, Thanks in anticipation.

ps anyone got a schematic they could share?

Notice also, that if one output transistor has a short, all the others should be leakage tested. Just because they pass the double diode test on a DVM doesn't mean they won't short out after a minute with 80v on them. I found new MJ15024 (which is what the NPN are) leak one current with the bass to emitter shorted, and 17 VDC (limited by a 47k resistor) on the collector. I found my old toasted transistors, except for one, leaked a much larger number. This was after I exploded a couple of old ouput transistors after a minute or two of power on with some new transistors replacing the shorted ones. No music yet, even.
Also, it is quite likely some drivers transistors and other things are blown up. I had traces on the driver board melted off the PWB, even. Lots of shorted diodes, burnt resistors, a few open ceramic capacitors. Check the emitter resistors. Don't forget the resistor between the plus and minus base lines on the output assembly. Also the current sense resistors feeding back to the VI limiter transistors. I used the old good (not leaky) MJ15025 as a driver, instead of buying a $7 MJ15021.
Oh, and while testing, put a dead room heater element in series with the AC line. This limits the size of the OT explosions. A 100 watt light bulb wasn't big enough to allow the +-15 volt supply to get up to full value. If you do have a short the room heater will tink and clink, instead of the light bulb illuminating.
