Hi
I need some help with this Peavey Minx 30watts bass amp. It had its fuse blown. Upon checking, both the power transistors were blown. Its has a SJE2152 on the left and a TIP107 on the right. One diode thru the heat sink is SZ1388 and the other is 1N4003. Can someone please tell me which are the correct transistors and diodes to be used for this amp.I cannot find the schematic. Does anyone has. Please assist.
Thanks
Carlos

customerservice@peavey.com for any Peavey schematic.
SJE2152 and SJE2153 are the Peavey house numbers. TIP101 is generic cross for 2152, and TIP106 for 2153. TIP107 would also be legitimate.
The 13886 is the Peavey dual diode. Is yours open? It tests like two diodes in series, which it is. And the plain old diodes are 1N4003 (or higher voltage if you want)

TIP 101 and TIP106 are out of stock in my local store, They have TIP102 and TIP107. So I will replace with them. The SZ1388 and 1N4003 are not open but as you said, the SZ shows a higher resistance then the 1N. I will replace them with 1N4004. Is that OK.
Thanks

Do not test the diodes for resistance, test them with the diode function of your meter - that tests for voltage drop. If either diode is open, your amp will blow fuses. If you replace the 13886 with a 1N4004, you will get crossover distortion. The double drop diode is there for a reason. Unless you have a real reason to replace it, I wouldn't do so.
The 1N4004 will test at roughly half a volt, while the 13886 will test to roughly 1 volt.
Also, each output transistor has a fractional ohm resistor associated with it. MAke sure neither is open.

JM, he needs the early version. His has a pair of darlington TO220s as outputs.
I don't have a scanned copy myself.
