I think the speaker polarity is not of much concern.
Given the fact that F2 is common source, to me it is inverting.

By that argument, regular amplifiers usually phase invert
several times.

I see. I simply looked at the amp, without taking the speaker polarity -which indeed can always be inverted- into account.
So, It is?
I have been using mine with Red to Black and Black to Red. From what Nelson says this seems to be correct.
