Hi all,
Is anyone in the know of where to go for parts in Bangkok?
I'm looking for a place like Sim Lim Tower in Singapore (a cross between the likes of Rat Shack/Dick Smith of old, or Jaycar/surplus stores of present, and Asian style mall/market).
My net searches seem to be turning out only single shops, distributors of specific line of parts, or just online retailers. Would anyone be willing to share knowledge of such a place? Or if it even exsists?
I don't have a specific shopping list, so a place where I can browse through parts bins would be ideal - retail therapy for my 'builder's block', if you will...
Thank you for reading
Cheers
Meraj

Go to this area, it's in old town Bangkok. They open around 10-16.00 except Sunday.
Google Maps
I'll give you a coordinate of other particular shops later.

These three shops are realiable sources of semiconductors, especially the first two shops.
I use to buy 2sk170bl from the first shop.
You can just write down what you want and hand it over to the staff there, no need to speak Thai.

Now these two shops are selling "audiophile grade" component. Price is not cheaper than buying online from hificollective or pcx though. They are small shop inside the building with any other shops, you just have to walk around and the second shop is a bit hard to track down.
I forget the name of the first shop.
Google Maps
The second shop call "ppnresource"

These are the area that might interest you. Lot of shops selling all kind of electrical and mechanical stuff.
Along this road
Google Maps
Lot of shops in this building. This is two storey building, kind of a maze, you might get lost in there. It's called Ban Moh Plaza.
Google Maps
I suggest you go there not before 10.00, they usually open a bit late. You can have lunch there, if you are not comfortable with street food, there is a shopping mall near that area called "The old siam plaza".
Happy hunting
Best Regards,
C.S.
