Hi everyone,
I'm new to the world of diy projection and i was thinking of building my first lcd projector, I've had an old ohp in my shed for a few years and when looking in these messages about people building a projector from an ohp so i got the thing out to have a look at it, Anyway can you build a projector from bit's of ohp's, I'm not to keen on just adding an lcd screen to it, I would like to build one like many of the good people on this site, And if so what parts can i use.

Any help would be lovely

You could definitely just pop a lcd on there. But if you want to actually build something you could build your own box. Use the current lamp, fresnels, lens, mirror if you want. It's really not that bad using an lcd on the OHP though, so to play around with things I suggest you pop one on there first before you start building stuff. Using an OHP lamp, specially if halogen creates a big heat problem too. So yes, it is doable, but I personally have never seen anyone use a full OHP and make their own box. At the very least I would suggest you get a new lamp for a projector. And if possible if your OHP doesn't have a good lens a new triplet would do wonders.
