Hey
Ive decided to take up nuuk's gainclone as my first amp project.
Ive gotten the 3875s. Just wondering if anyone knows a good place to purchase the rest of the parts in australia.

Thats the list of stuff i need. Theres heaps of overseas sites that i can order from but the shipping will be more than the parts themselves.

some do. some don't
mostly it's not worth spending 3x as much for a tiny gain in "clarity"
but then, some people like it that way

Hi Postman, I'm sure that the stuff you can get in Oz will be quite OK. I made that list from parts that I know work fairly well but it is not the last word in component selection; just a good base from which to start.
interestingly, my amp cost me absolutely nothing. ALL the parts were salvaged from old dead things (altho now i have to buy a tranny cos me salvaged one is no good)
PC power supplies usually have a whole pile of good Nichicon caps (their only good as far as i know cos a:they seem to sound good, and b: they don't have a cheesy sounding name like Joe master - not to say Joe Master caps wouldn't tp any good), PLENTY high hgh quality polyester caps, ceramic caps, big fat main suppression caps. also 4 or five inductors (good for winding wire to make new inductors for crossovers etc), and plenty of resistors, including high wattage ones. there's also an IEC power connector (always handy), fuses, a fan if you want.
plu syou can find dead PC PSU's for nothing. infact anyone who has one would probably give it to you for free.
even if you only took the IEC connector out of it, you still saved a couple of bucks!
