PA monitor enclosure

Have a couple of Altec Lansing 920-8B's and would like to make some (2) enclosures. They will be powered by a 200w per channel powered mixer. I will be using for playback of mp-3 music and if the speaker is capable, acoustic guitar. Also if I find an enclosure that could double as a floor monitor that would also be desirable. I have a full wood shop so cabinet work is no problem. Please comment also on the suitability of this speaker for acoustic guitar in addition to plans for enclosure.

You could do a lot worse. The response curve looks pretty good and the frequency response should fit well for music playback and acoustic guitar (90Hz is the low-frequency limit according to the specs on the EV site (not Altec Lansing)).

"The 920-8B is the ideal loudspeaker when a
high-efficiency, wide-dispersion, easily mounted, full
range loudspeaker is required for in-ceiling or in-wall
installations."

Electro-Voice 920-8B 12? Coaxial Speaker

Since you have them on hand, give it a go. Odd that EV doesn't give the Thiele-Small parameters though - not that I could find anyway. The driver is used in the EV EVID C12.2 which suggests that a small sealed enclosure will work. Don't expect a lot of bass though.
