Would it be possible to drive Project 68 into 2R? I would like to bridge 2 of them and drive a Tumult. I already have a p68 so I would just have to build another. I would rather not scrap the amp I already have 😉
How about if I add another set of OP devices?
Thanks

You can half the Voltage supplyTedPolzin said:Would it be possible to drive Project 68 into 2R? I would like to bridge 2 of them and drive a Tumult. I already have a p68 so I would just have to build another. I would rather not scrap the amp I already have 😉

and double the current output devices.
But that would make some other changes as well, most probably.
No need to have have high Voltage supply for to drive 2 ohm.
Just a waste of heatsinks and other materials.
And puts a very high call for safety circuits.
/halo - twice as much - is not so rarely, twice as bad!!!!!
some young ones - think it is ALWAYS twice as good (when will they ever learn)
Where have all the flowers gone?
Gone to graveyards everyone!
When will they ever learn....
This amp will drive safely a 4 ohm load and in bridge mode will handle a 8 ohm speaker. Bridging it into 2 ohm wills surely destroy the amp.
You could use it alone in 2 ohm but you must not go over the maximum output power but this is not garanteed.

Yes I would imagine. That would be like driving a 1R on each. I would still want to do 4R in bridge mode that would be 2R each. I was just wondering if this amp could handle it. Would adding another set of OP devices help?
Thanks
