While building a couple of smallish P3A mono amps a rather important question came to me. I'm planning to use a "passive preamp" - just a pot. But how does the P3A cope with a high and variable input impedance?
The pot I plan to use is an ALPS RK40 bought from LCAudio a couple of weeks ago. They still have plenty, as far as I understood. But the pot is only rated 10k. Will it be a problem?
Thanks in advance
Soeren B

Hi Soeren B,
I just completed my P3A last Friday and don't use any preamp, just plug my CD player straight in. Seems to work fine.
PS Have you seen Rod Elliott's new forums. You might get the answer directly from Rod there.
