Do the 640’s go on the negative rail ? So they see negative rail voltage and the 9640’s see positive rail voltage ?

irfp240/9240 the 240 is a N channel and 9240 is p channel
N channel usually goes to +ve rail
P channel usually goes to negative rail
9 in the number usually means P channel.
Ideally look for a circuit diagram to be 100% sure.

It uses 640/9640 as the outputs I need to know if the 640’s go to the pads where I bet positive rail voltage or negative rail voltage

If it's the 22 pin driver board, the P-channel (9640) is on the positive rail. The N-channel (640N) on the negative rail.
