ahoy me hearties, I be new to these forums, have a couple of questions.
How will an output transformer affect the general quality of an amp? Will a real world transformer introduce much distortion, and if so, what orders, generally.
Also, is it wise to use the transformer as part of the output filer, for class d type applications?

For transformer coupled amps (single ended or push-pull) the transformer is perhaps the most important part for frequency response and linearity. Class D amps usually use a lowpass filter which involve simple inductors, not a transformer.
