Output DC Offset for Sonic-T

Hi folks,
I read in some post that DC offset on the output, exceeding 50mV is bad for speakers; ideally should be 0v offset.

It is measured between the -ve and +ve of the speaker posts right?

Tripath's specs for the TA2024 is between 50mV-150mV.

My sonic-T is getting 55mV/116mV on the output. Do we need to tune this down? Didn't feel safe putting my main speakers to it... currently running a pair of old mini-hifi speakers. 😀

Thanks!

Don't worry bout it pooze, I bet all of us have 100mv on one channel!? I have 40 and 95 at the moment but have had a lot worse!
Some say that it helps the dynamics, some say you should get rid of any DC....the only way to do that is to fit a correction circuit to the input alla the TA2024C spec sheet.
TA2024C
Have a look at Brian's T-amp on the Ref. T-amp thread

Thanks Lostcause!

When I have the opportunity, I will probably give the trimming using fixed resistors a try. Wondering how it would affect the output... :xeye:

Anyone tried it with positive(or negative) impact to the quality of the output?

Thanks! 🙂
