I recently nearly sold a couple of NIB Ava 18's to raise some cash but changed my mind when I saw how much similar new subs would cost... $800+ each. So I pawned a Beretta 9mm instead. 😉
Are there any other suitable new replacements for the Ava 18" that can match or beat SQ and SPL that cost less than the RE XXX? I'm looking for low FS (below 20Hz) and low Qts (below .5) for HT use. As much as I'd love a pair (or four) of the RE 18's (or 21's) I just can't ever justify spending that much money.

Mach 5 UXL-18 or Sundown Zv3 18. Forget about the low FS or you will not find any drivers. For most low order alignments (sealed, IB, Dipole, bass reflex, it is relatively inconsequential compared with other factors.

Thanks, Josh. I think I've seen the Sundown but not the Mach 5's. I'll have a look.
Edit: Oooh... The Mach 5 FTW-21 looks interesting.
