Hi,
I have a very strange problem with a mini amp I bought. It is a class-T TA2020 and the speaker starts to oscilliate now and then and it escalate quit quick without any reasonable cause. I have tried to force it to oscilliate by turning up the volume but nothing happens...When it happens I need to shut off the amp for 10 sec or so then it works for another 30 min. I do not want to damage my speakers!!
What might cause this? Any suggestion would be great, thanks!

Not a forum problem. I will ask the mods to move it.
What?!?

It's a class D amp. And this is a Class D forum.

I Quess you have bad quality SMPS power supply that is causing this.
Change the power supply.
It was originally in the 'forum problems' forum. The mods have moved it to the right place, but not left a note saying so.

My bad, DF96 helped me out thanks!

Thanks tamphist for your reply!
This is all new to me and apologize for not fully understand how this is done? Should I replace the power caps?

What kind of amplifier board you have? Would you have a picture?
Are you using SMPS or linear power supply/transformer? Tell more.
SMPS does not like capacitive load. Remove power caps
from your amplifier if you are using SMPS.
And. Try another power supply.

I will have some pictures for you tomorrow, I am away on business.
But ok, no I guess this is a linear pwr supply. With my limited knowledge I think the 4ea 1000uF caps (located directly after 12v dc input) are used as power caps.
Let me know what you think.

So it's SMSL SA-36A TA2020:

Picture of your power supply would have been more interesting.
I quess it looks someting like this:

I quess it is power supply problem. If you don't have
better SMPS or linear power supply, you could try to
change those 1000uf caps to 180uf.

You're good! 🙂
After some experimentation I think this is just the case, my pwr supply is not rated to 4 amp. I will replace my pwr supply!
Thank you Tamphist you are tha KING!
Best regards
Mattias
