I have an optoma 756 and tried to put in a new 250W philips bulb. well I exchanged the bulb in the unit from the original burned one and when I turned the power on the lights dimmed and shut the breaker. Now the bulb is exactly the same as was in the projector originally. The difference was that the wires on the new bulb did not have a plasic sheilding the old one had and the leads on the bulb were smaller. would the difference in lead size cause and arc and short out the cirut. also now the projector will power on standbye, but when the button is pushed it sounds like the fan is trying to turn on but wont.
What can I do?
What can I do?
BIN IT! only joking! the first place to start would be to get a hoover and such up as much dust etc out of the fan areas. in the worst case if your fans dont turn on at all when started = 2 possibilities
1..your pj is dead (i dont think so)
2.. your fan/s have failed and need replacing.
but clean first, insert bulb make sure everything is closed shut AND screwed then start up. if fans run lcd swtiches on etc but no bulb light = another problem (that i have solution)
let me know what happens.
