Hiya All,
I have read the recent thread regarding BNC connector cables.
Has anybody tried 'F-type' connectors for audio or digital interconnections ?
These are the standard connector for sattelite tv installations.
Cheap and easy to fit too !.
Sonics.... ?
Impedence match ? (Any comments from the 'TDR Twins' ?)
Regards, Eric.

That's an easy one. They were not designed for repeated insertions. Connect them once and leave them be.

No doubt about it. The BNC is the better connector. Center conductor connection is better, shield connection better, lower loss, higher bandwidth. Cable termination is a bit more complex, but worth the trouble.
Thanks Jocko and Aud_Mot,
I thought that BNC's were a bitch to terminate, certainly compared to F-type.
"Center conductor connection is better, shield connection better, lower loss, higher bandwidth"
Lower loss and higher bandwidth ? - I thought these (f-type)were close to ideal ?.
I agree the center connection is not fantastic, but does it really need to be ?.
Shield connection ? - looks ok to me ?.
Eric.

I detest f connectors. Even when you get out the wrench the connection is rarely as good as you want it to be.
