After press the "PLAY" botton the cd rotates, but don't play. Rf-signal looks worse while rotating of cd in "PLAY" mode, but fine in the "PAUSE"-mode (although cd continues to rotate).
Since the commands are accepted, I'm able also to check the "PAUSE" mode.
The power-level of laser is like new. All adjustments are correct. By checking the method as describes by post #8 under

I note follow anomalie:
while adjust the tracking error potentiometer the player goes in the "PAUSE" mode.
To fix issues in the tracking servo is for me in gereral most difficult in such cases, where the cd rotates but don't play (except when the laser output power is too weak as a result of age).
Who can give me further notes for troubleshooting in the tracking error unit ?

I had very similar problem as yours. My payer is DX-7310. I changed almost every parts, including pick up, pick up boards, spindle/sled motors, cables, even servo/decoder chips without success. I gave up and bought a SD player eventually.
Is it the player mentioned on this thread ?

If yes, the only way to find out the reason for the unwanted and not correct behaviour is a second device of this model - easy to get and not expensive in used condition, at least in Germany - go to

concerning the device from this thread I had success by troubleshooting.
By replacing parts of the one into the other device of the same model you will observe that eventually migrates your mentioned error in the other device and thus you have fix the problem.
The reason of the unwanted behavior described above in post #1 was the sleed motor itself - he was very stiff, even by single operation without any transmission parts.
After making the lubrication at this motor and assemby this very old cd-player works fine like new.

Good for you. Yes, that's my thread. At that time, I could get used one, but I just wanted to repair it. However, I gave up and went for SD player. Never look back.
