Hi,
I have encountered two different integrated amplifiers that only work on one channel immediately upon startup - but the silent channel kicks in without issue when you crank the volume control a little bit. Even increasing the volume on the source (computer volume control, or MP3 player) is enough to kick start the other channel.
What could possibly be causing this kind of thing?
It's not a problem with the potentiometer (it's perfect), or bad solder joints, all that's fine. If you turn the amp off when everything's working right, and then immediately power it up again, the channel is silent again - so it's not a "warm-up" issue, either.
Idle current's been adjusted on both amps. One has completely new electrolytic capacitors throughout. All potentiometers and switches are perfectly clean and without issue. The two amps have nothing in common, aside from this similar problem.

Replace output relay ...
to ensure the failure while in low listening level , and while the one ch does not operate tick over the relay with a screw driver to see if it contacts after that...
