Hey guys, this is my first diy projector project, im doing it to possibly incorporate it in my bands on stage performance since our budget is a little tight at the moment.
I found an old American Optical slide projector and I'm wanting to convert it into a video projector, I have an LCD screen and the Fresnel lenses. When I took the bulb out of the projector I noticed it had 2 condenser lenses, one plano and one biconvex, at least that's my guess (check pic and correct me if im wrong), and I'm guessing a piece of tempered glass in between them.
My question is: Do I keep the lenses and can I use them to my advantage for the video projector or am I just using the bulb?

If you don't use those lenses, heat damage will occur from the U/V and heat produced by the lamp.
Sweet! Thanks for the heads up. But am I still able to use them in conjunction with the fresnel lenses or is that going to mess up the operation?
Well that's why I'm here. I'm not sure if I need them or not. I assumed I needed them because I'm using an LCD screen bigger than the size of a slide.
