I was looking through the Jan/Feb, 2004 edition of "AudioVideo Interiors". There are two sets of speakers featured in a section appropriately titled, "TODAY'S MOST OUTRAGEOUS PRODUCTS". First: for a mere $149,000 per pair, a set of Westlake Audio SM-1 Towers. They are 5-way towers that weigh 975-lbs and nearly 6-ft tall. Each has dual 18-in woofers, a 12-in midbass, a 2-in horn loaded compression midrange, a 1-in horn loaded compression tweeter and a .5-in compression super tweeter.

Second: For $125,000 EACH...Wilson Audio's X2 Alexandria. All I saw was somthing about a "newly developed front-firing port, along with increased driver surface..." I assume the X-1 which was the predecessor to this model lacked this state of the art front port.

All tongue-n-cheek cloning jokes aside, who actually buys these things?
