OHP Panel issue...

It's kinda funny, I didnt think anyone else was messing with this stuff. I was doing this 2 years ago and NOW I find this site. Wish I'd found it when I first thought of this. Anyway onto my issue.

A few years ago I ran the panel/ohp setup in my living room. It ran great, and hell it was a big img on the extreme cheap, 100 for the panel and 25 for the ohp. I had only one issue and that the output from the dvd player was a bit darker but in retrospect I have to conclude that it was probably the macrovision screwwing things up. otherwise it was great.

Fast forward to today. The lcd and ohp havent been used in a while because I had moved and couldn't find a decent place to stick it in my new apt. But then i got bored (as is often the case) bought an xbox and dug everything out to game on a huge screen. Worked well for a few days. then with out warning the picture went to b/w. now That was annoying. I havent yet been able to get it to run in color since so it has all gone into storage because I've just moved again.

Now i know there is a bit of bias against the Sharp QA 1100 but really it worked well for me. Now I need to know from someone more knowledgeable than me is this something that can be fixed? I really dont feel like buying another panel, but I want that screen size again. I am just curious if I have any options like can it be repaired, or am I up the proberbial creek. I'm not in the mood to go hunting on ebay for another panel. Nor do I feel like spending the cash but if its necessary.....

Any help would be appreciated.

yep and vice versa ntsc to pal id try looking for dust that may have acumilated on the electronis of the panel controler it might be even abit of hair enough to **** a chip off to not make colour lol either that or if u have colour ajustment check that, i dont think this problem is serious if the panel didnt work thats serious but in your case its just some small thing thats gone to sleep or being shorted out maybe not set properly either.

Happy diy
Trev
