OHP bulb costs

In these forums I have read a lot of people say that you shouldn't get one of these 7000 lumen OHPs as the bulbs are $125 each. They state that the 4000 lumens are much better, as the bulbs are only about $10 each. However, the bulbs that are 10 times more expensive last 10 times as long. So, in terms of bulb costs there is no difference. On this basis, I would go for a 7000 lumen OHP every time, because of all the other benefits.

Is my conclusion correct do you think?

i guess...i dont need that many lumens so it is perfectly bright as i have a blacked out theatre room...i use a fxl 4000 lumen bulb in a apollo concept 2250 and it works very well for me...it depends upon what your situation is really...

I agree with dengez on this one. I use a 600 watt dys bulb (in a old bell and howell projector) and it is plenty bright enough to see even with a lamp or two on.

It just comes out to what you want to do. I have actually purchased a 400 watt halogen setup that I have not setup simply because the current unit works well enough for what we need.
