I was contemplating making a cabinet for my celestion greenback guitar speaker. I wanted to make it look a bit different by making the cabinet out of very thick perspex and having some low voltage strip lighting in there.
Does this sound like the past time of someone who has gone a bit mental or do i have a chance of making something decent?
Should i try it or stick with MDF?

You could certainly give it a try, but sheet perspex thick enough to give the strength you need will not be cheap!
It will also scratch up very quickly, unless you are very careful in handling the finished cab.

You could always try setting strips of perspex on edge around the front baffle, and if you pre sanded them so they had a brushed finish then any minor scratching would not be noticed from a distance.
i think i will look for a lower cost option at this stage. i dont want to go spending hundreds of dollars to find that it is completly crap...
