Two years ago I start NOS DAC project. I didn't want to use classical TDA1543, TDA1541. A first board with little logic was necessary for bit alignment. This board is followed by analog DAC board. This project is now ended. The final product is a real High-End NOS DAC.

Because I don't want to keep this works only form myself. I propose a kit of the first digital board: The Digital Decoder Pro. This board provides an easy interface for implementing ICs like PCM1704, PCM1702, PCM56, AD1861... The digital decoder doesn't integrate analog stage; it's a digital board for building your own DIYaudio NOS DAC.
Since the first prototype, I add many functions to digital decoder. You can choose bit resolution for 16, 18, 20 or 24bit DAC chip. It integrates four inputs and an external and optional input clock allowing works with very low jitter. For convenience, all digital data (DOR, DOL, CLK, LE) are provided with normal and reverse state, so you don't need any glue logic.

You can find more information on my web site: Digital Decoder Pro

I hope this board will help you with your personal (and exciting) NOS DAC project.

Hello Eric,
After I read some of your web pages I must confess that I really do appreciate your work regarding audio and all that it implies. Though, I do have a quick question for you: could you please tell me which manufacturer makes the toroids you are using in your apps?
Thank you!

Thanks. You probably speak about toroids used as big inductor in power supply.
Manufacturer: Noratel.
