Noisy Volume pot on TU-8200 Amp

I built a TU-8200 last year along with the Matching Pre-amp.

I normally only adjust the volume using the pre-amp, but
upon turning the volume pot on the TU-8200 it is now noisy.

Where can I get a Better replacement pot that will last longer?

Can one not turn the pot to max setting, thereby by-passing it. I'm now looking at elkit 300B as my se otl got water logged in an accident and is un-repairable. I use a passive pre by Django. On a review of elekit, a passive was 'cleaner than the original pot.
