No internet radio with M1 Clic

Hello all,
I'm not sure if this is posted in the correct forum, but here goes.
I have a Musical Fidelity M1 Clic that I use for listening to internet radio on occasions. This has functioned perfectly fine since purchase two years ago then today when powered on and Internet Radio selected shows "connection error". The unit is connected via LAN and the connection appears okay, when the cable is plugged in the correct time shows and the icon shows a connection. The LAN port used is okay as checked out with my laptop.
Being an older device I wondered if the system for internet radio has changed and this unit no longer supports this. Much like terrestrial TV was switched off some time back. Are their any Clic users out there still able to listen to internet radio?
In case it helps I am based in the UK.

Cheers.
Alan.

I guess no CLiC users here. After some research and eventually an email to the UK agent for Musical Fidelity they confirmed that vTuner who supplied the streaming service for MF no longer support the M1 CLiC so it looks like time for a new unit to stream internet radio.

Regards all
Alan.

Hello Stuey,
Thanks for the reply. Funnily enough that is one of the units the Musical Fidelity dealer in the UK recommended. I'm looking at that or the Pro version.
as a possible fix before eventually biting the bullet and replacing the CLiC with a up to date unit.

vTuner is now by subscription for a small fee. With my Denon I had to go to radiodeneon.com to register the player (MAC address) and pay a fee and MF probably has an equivalent radioxxxx.com.

The WiiM Pro Plus is a better unit with a better AKM DAC but if you use your own DAC then the Pro does the job.

I use vTuner and TuneIn to listen to internet radio on my Wiim without paying a fee, although I have noticed some stations on vTuner don't always work.

As it happens I just bought my son a Pro Plus for his birthday next month. I hope he doesn't happen to search this on Google.

Thanks for the replies. MF appear not to have a subscription option for vTuner (I can't see this on the vTuner site either) and the option was not mentioned by their service agent, it was always free up until late January when it disappeared from the CLiC. I don't use my own DAC so I'll look into the WiiM Pro Plus. I was also considering the Cambridge Audio CXN100.

Cheers
Alan.

Bugger.
I've just found my Pure radio internet service ended in 2023.
I didn't even realise it relied on a service - I thought internet radio was exactly that.

Thankfully it also has FM & DAB (but not DAB+).
Good job the UK is not rushing to update its radio services.
Last time I rush to embrace new technology!

I didn't even realise it relied on a service - I thought internet radio was exactly that. Exactly the same as me. I've had the CLiC for about four years happily listening to internet radio as and when, then out of the blue no more connections. Sadly mine does not have DAB or FM (mind you the stations I listen to only seem to be on internet radio). I guess whatever I replace this with will have the same issue some years down the line.

With my Denon when I lost vTuner it came up with a message on the display for radiodenon.com and Yamaha did the same. If you contact MF they should have the address to enable by a fee as it's vTuner that stops the service.

The problem with this type of gear is long term support of services and App. The WiiM Pro Plus was close in sonics to my Cambridge CXN which I loved but for a fraction of the price. There's also the WiiM Ultra and Cambridge MXN10.

Thanks Rabbitz. I did contact MF but they didn't offer that service so I emailed vTuner yesterday to see if they offered such a service direct.
I have also just looked at the WiiM Ultra and that may be the way I go. That also has a phono input that would serve my vinyl needs until I finish the phono preamp I started a couple of years ago.

Cheers
Alan.
