I would like to be able to examine the performance of the various preamps and amps I have and will construct.
I have copies of REW and ARTA running through a Focusrite Scarlett SOLO. I believe I understand the basics of using the FFT spectrum features on both software.
1. not 100% clear on the connections including a "load" resistor to DUT and the Focusrite. So, output of Focusrite to the input of the DUT, output of the DUT to the input of the Focusrite with a load resistor across the output of the DUT. When testing a preamp I have been using 1-2 v P-P output from the Focusrite. Not sure what level to be sending back to the Focusrite input.
2. Uncertain as to the best settings on the software being used.
3. interpreting the results also not certain.
Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.
Thanks
David

Better start with RMAA for example... that will be easier to use and give you also good/exellent etc outcome for each test.
