Hi, I am honestly a complete newbie to diy audio and started my first project a couple weeks ago. Im building some viogt pipes with PIONEER 8" full range drivers, and so far I like how they are turning out. But, I stumbled unto a dilemma, what kind of amp should I get. I have heard that the sonic impact (that little 30 dollar amp) is pretty good. But I really think I want to stick with the DIY attitude and make a tube amp kit and spend around 50-100 dollars on it. What do you guys think I should do?
thanks!

I noticed this is your first post, so welcome. 🙂

US$50-$100 will get you almost nothing though. 🙁 The output transformers alone in most amps would cost more than that. Valve amps have to be more expensive than their solid-state counterparts, it's an obsolete technology and can't benefit from all the economies of scale...

The cheapest amp kit I've heard of is the US$139 kit from S5 Electronics that Gio built in this thread.

What forum are you asking in? 😀 Go for something valve-based!
